You want strong protection for all your devices—PCs, video server, phones, wireless gear—on your network. With Comcast business, installing a VPN on the router isn’t an option. You’re considering a self-managed router using Ubiquity APs and looking for an affordable, reliable VPN solution. Need help finding the right tools or guidance?

They are seeking a VPN connection from outside to your office or asking to secure all your internet traffic. PIA only protects data leaving your phone or PC; it doesn’t encrypt the entire office network.

I aim to understand your goals clearly. I’ll use a VPN to enhance privacy, secure connections, or access region-specific content. It should help protect your data and ensure smooth performance across different networks.

You're asking for clarification on what specific machines or systems you need protection for. Could you provide more details about the equipment and its purpose?

There are definitely methods to handle this situation. The key point is that an ISP serves as your gateway to the internet. No system is completely safe from them. If they use techniques like deep packet inspection, they should be able to track your online activities. You can add complexity for them and safeguard against quick checks of your traffic. A VPN can assist with this by routing all your network traffic through a secure tunnel. You’d typically set up your router to connect to the VPN, ensuring every data flows through it. Many VPN services offer router integration, though you’ll need to confirm your device supports it. You might have to upgrade your hardware or install custom firmware. Keep in mind this could slow down your internet speed significantly.

It’s probably necessary to use a top-of-the-line router to manage significant network activity. In corporate settings, using a personal computer like pfSense isn’t typical for such tasks.

Additionally, the USG from Ubiquity isn't particularly strong, so I'd choose a more premium option for faster connections. Based on my use of similar VPN services, they often significantly slow down your internet speed, mainly because the external connection has restricted bandwidth and won't match your regular internet performance unless you're already on a very slow network.
