I can still access every file there, which suggests it isn't failing. Or perhaps you're asking if it's actually failing and is trying to protect itself from data loss by becoming write-protected, preventing further damage until it completely stops working? I haven't used it much—maybe only around 100GB over its life. I noticed a video on it too; it played very slowly, about once every second frame, then showed one at a time. The task manager next to it reported a read speed of roughly 3Mb/s when fully loaded. Edited May 28, 2022 by DreamCat04

The screenshot shows HWInfo with an open PowerPoint file. A 23 MB presentation contains about 9 GB of data, which appears to be within normal limits.
