Do you recognize the individual you're asking them to grant access to? It would be quicker and simpler to share the files via Aus Post.

Yeah, I'm familiar with them, but the information on the computer keeps updating. It's probably going to grow to three or more items in the next couple of months. I don't know if the posts here are moving slowly enough for me.

It seems to be moving slowly wherever I go. Maybe check your NBN provider. If you look at your router, note the brand and model. Then verify if a VPN feature is available.

I'm using the NBN setup (the FTTN version instead of FTTP), and it seems to be a TG799vac model.

I’m based in Melbourne and we haven’t received the NBN yet, which is frustrating. Please don’t assume your router has a VPU feature—check the manual or online sources for confirmation.

I wasn’t expecting that, though it’s true NBN isn’t much better than what they claimed. Do you have any suggestions for a new modem or router? I’m not sure what the differences are.

The pi is linked to the router through a cable, the router to the modem. Nothing is attached directly to the pi. You reach the pi via the internet using any device. There’s no requirement for a physical link. When I have my laptop on the same router and a shared folder available to anyone on the network, I can access it from any connected device through the VPN anywhere.

Are you sure the individual you're asking about understands technology? Since they might use a router with VPN support, simply connecting to their network could let them access your files.
