Sure thing! VPNs can help with multiplayer games by masking your real IP address and routing traffic through a remote server. This can reduce latency and improve connection stability, especially in areas with poor local internet quality. While using a VPN may slightly affect speed due to encryption overhead, many gamers find it worth it for smoother gameplay. Your ping might increase marginally, but the benefits often outweigh that for competitive or online sessions.

connection ping is higher since your internet link goes through a router that's farther than necessary. There are also servers and systems in place to safeguard your privacy. I wouldn't try this personally because VPNs tend to be quite slow in practice.

Absolutely, that's the main idea. Using a single solution mainly helps lower the chance of facing DDoS attacks.

It seems the DDoS shield won't work if someone is sending rapid pings or attacking the server.

VPN traffic gets significant attention and is handled differently depending on the service provider versus gaming needs. For gaming, especially in regions like Southeast Asia, using a VPN helps lower latency by connecting to servers abroad. This typically brings ping from 600–1000ms down to a stable 200–300ms range on US servers. It also avoids any throttling or bottlenecks imposed by the ISP. When I experienced high pings (around 300ms on an SG server while playing in Malaysia), a VPN like Battleping would have reduced it to about 50ms.
