Second screen shutting down repeatedly after being turned off in Windows
Windows 10, 64 bit uses a display port connected to an HDMI cable. It’s an older IPS screen. When I turn it off or disable it in settings, it restarts quickly, disconnects, and reconnects again. My graphics card drivers are current. I’m stuck except for the cable issue—without it, the monitor won’t work properly. The port side is on the GPU, while the HDMI side connects to the monitor.
It seems like a poor quality cable or adapter might be the problem. Test the connection using the GPU's built-in HDMI port without the adapter to check if the issue persists. If it still works, the adapter is likely faulty; if not, the cable probably needs replacing.
It seems the issue might be resolved by adjusting the cable placement into the first display port slot. The problem could have been caused by a faulty or loose connection, though I did unplug and replug it before. If it happens again, I’ll likely replace the cable.
