Before you begin reading, I realize I posted in the wrong section—sorry, it wasn’t spam. It’s my first time engaging with the forum, and I didn’t know how to remove the initial post. My setup includes a ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING II motherboard with two M.2 slots. The M.2_1 slot blocks SATA5-6, while the M.2_2 supports PCIe 16_1 at x8 instead of x16, making it feasible to install two M.2 SSDs. I’m running an AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 4750G processor. My storage configuration has two NVMe SSDs—a Crucial P3 (500GB) and a WD Green SN350 (1TB)—plus one SATA SSD (WD Green 2.5TB). All devices appear in the BIOS, but only the Crucial and SATA SSDs show up in Windows Disk Manager. The NVMe WD Green is missing. I’ve tried everything: booted from a Win11 USB, checked memory via Windows (no luck), modified drivers (including AMD RAID, which wasn’t present), disabled NVMe RAID mode in BIOS, and even swapped the SSDs. The M.2_2 slot still works for all drives, but in BIOS everything is present. I’m starting to think the M.2_2 slot might be faulty.

I received a computer with the identical motherboard and a Ryzen 5 5600X. It has the same number of PCIe lanes as your CPU. You have an NVMe PCI 4.0x4, a NVMe PCIe 3.0x4, a SATA SSD and an SATA HDD all operating simultaneously. (Additionally an RTX 3060ti GPU is installed.) Referring to the manual, the only ports that could cause issues with the M.2 drives are SATA ports #5 and #6. It seems safe to proceed as long as you only connect SATA ports #1 through #4. The reason the second M.2 isn't appearing in Windows is likely due to driver compatibility, even though the drives appear in BIOS. Visit the ASUS website and install all relevant drivers for your motherboard, particularly those for the Chipset and SATA devices. Hope this assists you.

I figured it out the same way, so I tried moving my boot drive to the second M.2 slot. As I mentioned earlier, it still wouldn’t boot. I’ve updated all the relevant drivers for the motherboard and AMD chipset, but I haven’t found the ASUS SATA device driver or any other related drivers. I’m getting really frustrated.

Your board remains covered under warranty. Reach out to ASUS and request an RMA if they can't resolve the issue with your board. Having two M.2 slots is quite important. If only the fifth M.2 was non-functional, it would matter less, but the second slot is essential.
