Second fan linked to identical header operates at maximum velocity
I have two fans linked to the same CPU header via a Y-splitter. My motherboard only has one CPU fan and one chassis fan port, which is already taken by two fans—one 120mm chassis fan and another 80mm CPU fan. I assumed the motherboard would manage both speeds but noticed the 120mm fan runs at full speed constantly while the CPU fan only adjusts slightly. I’ve used this setup for some time without issues, but I’m worried that running the 120mm fan at full speed might shorten its lifespan. Is there a way to control both fans simultaneously, or did I connect something incorrectly? Please advise. Thanks!
