Searching for the top value for performance motherboards compatible with the 10th gen 10660K. Overclocking isn’t a priority right now, but I’ll consider ATX options and WiFi capabilities.
The most affordable board compatible with the 10600K is available without impacting performance at normal speeds. For memory or CPU overclocking, a Z-series board is required.
Z-series board without a weak VRM design. The AsRock Z490 Pro4 won't support an i5-10600K even in stock; its cooling limits performance.
These processors all have a power rating of 125W in stock, staying within Intel's specifications. The AsRock Z490 Phantom Gaming 4 performs even worse. According to the review, Gigabyte's Z390 series with Aorus components also delivers solid performance, especially with their Z490 model. I chose a Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Master over an ASUS Maximus XI Hero mainly due to better heatsink design and VRM configuration. My previous experience was mostly with ASUS boards, so moving to Gigabyte felt like a change in strategy.
