SEARCHING FOR THE WELL-KNOWN TRIDENT X 2900+Mhz ddr3
Considering the 2400MHZ kits seems like a solid choice since they were previously reliable at those speeds. I'm aiming to integrate a 1900MHz OC clock into my existing setup, though I'm experiencing some minor instability at the moment. I've been researching various options.
You need to regularly reset the memory performance. 1.85v is just starting to boost most chips, but some scale differently, etc. I've been using 2.1v, same rules for all DDR overclocks... keep the memory cool. Instability is easy to get at high temps, around 60c. I aim to keep most DDR under 50c. A good guideline is if you can clear PiMod 32m, it's stable enough for testing and maybe some games. Cooling is key.
I successfully adjusted the frequency to 1950MHZ from 1704 and am now close to achieving it. At just 1.6V, things are working well, and the graphics are handling 720P with impressive frame rates. Surprisingly, Bioshock 1 and 2 run smoothly at 720 low settings despite their age.
My best performance has been around 2800mt/s (1425mhz effective). 1.7v CL12. ADATA. 9-10-9-27-36 CR2 (if necessary) 2133mt/s or less at 1.65v. That's the target you should aim for. Stick to the tightest timing possible for this frequency. CL10 won't cut it, even with a single tick command rate.
