Hello. I'm working on a compact build and need WiFi and Bluetooth functionality. The only viable choice is a M.2 card. Since I want top performance without prior experience in this space, I'm seeking recommendations. A high-quality kit with an included antenna would be ideal. I haven't found a solid buyer's guide yet—any suggestions or resources you have would be greatly appreciated.

Consider the Intel 8260 and 9260 chips. They're likely top choices for WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity. Keep in mind they don't include antenna cables, so you'll need to purchase them separately.

I’ll check them thoroughly. Regarding the Killer cards, they cost more, but their performance is solid compared to others.

I used a Killer wireless chip in my Razer Blade 14. The performance was comparable, but unlike intended, game latency was significantly higher, making League impossible to play. It works well with Intel cards.

For a brand new setup, a standard ITX board usually includes built-in Intel Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities.

If by premium you mean the top-tier boards, maybe that’s the case. I own two ITX units—one budget and one more advanced—neither of which runs Intel. The ASRock H97M-ITX/ac features Realtek rt8821ae (USB over mini PCIe not M.2) and the Asus ROG Z370-I GAMING is built-in and uses Realtek 8822be PCI-E.

I don’t think my board is the top-tier option near $120. It seems mini ITX and Intel’s connectivity features might be underpriced. Perhaps Intel is offering cheaper alternatives.

They aren't "their own boards" though, vendors choose what goes on them. Its only relatively recently that there has been a push to include Intel NICs on the boards, traditionally it was always shitty Realtek chips. Honestly I have no clue what is meant to be "best" for WiFi these days. Intel are best for ethernet, but I read plenty of issues with Intel WiFi. But being WiFi, half those issues are probably crap routers. Like anything else, its better to match the chipset of your routers WiFi, but few people are aware of that.
