Searching for motherboards and CPUs compatible with DDR3 ECC RAM
I secured four 16GB DDR3 ECC RAM sticks from a friend at nearly no cost. Since I’m planning a home server build, I purchased them. The main challenge is locating a suitable motherboard that supports this configuration. I’ll be assembling the system myself and only have the RAM installed so far. I’m looking for compatible CPU options that work with it.
Only motherboards for servers are compatible with registered ECC DDR3 RAM. For a regular desktop, unregistered ECC is acceptable.
