Can an 80W iron handle the task? I'm keeping costs low for just this part.

Sure, an 80W unit should suffice. You’d likely run into problems with a 30-40W iron, but you should still check the board first—this capacitor isn’t required for it to start or operate.

The impact on performance would be significant. Without proper voltage regulation, the system would likely experience instability, reduced efficiency, and potentially premature failure over time.

There aren't enough issues to care about unless you're focusing on things like frequency checks. I’d likely prefer to switch it later just to feel safer, but it doesn’t make sense if the board is generally inactive.

It isn't necessary for the exact value, higher values like 330uF or 470uF work fine... they won't offer much extra advantage. 270uF suffices. The voltage rating can exceed 16v, such as 25v—avoid anything below 16v since the capacitor is connected to the 12v supply. That lower voltage would risk damage from excess power. Keep in mind Asus often flips polarity markings on their boards. The black line or segment shows positive on the board, but on capacitors it usually points to the negative side. On the schematic, the black bar is on the right, yet on the board it's on the left. By default, you'd want it facing right, aligning with the negative lead.

Yes, include a positive value in the circular input to align with the black bar.
