Mainly the name you're using. You're planning to switch from LGA1200 to LGA1851 (apologies if this affects compatibility). Your current setup includes a GTX 7700 XT, M.2 SSD, Samung 990 EVO RAM, Seasonic 650 PSU, and an Airflow 4000D case.

The best choice depends on your needs, but based on what I have, this is the most suitable option.

Looking for a gaming CPU? Let me help you pick one that fits your needs. What’s your budget and what platform are you planning to use?

I've assembled a PC before, so I don't really need the manual. The one I have now was built by hand, which gives me a clear sense of what I'm doing. Since this is my second build, I'm aiming for a solid recommendation. I'm particularly interested in an LGA1851 motherboard and CPU, matching the specs of my current system. I'm switching from an older LGA1200 setup where I removed the CPU, and now I want to upgrade to LGA1851 or AMD5. It would be great if it offers better future-proofing without spending extra on outdated parts.

I recall this now clearly. Yeah, I’d avoid the LGA1851 at the moment. Its performance matches the 14th gen version just with less power usage. Choosing AMD Zen 4 on AM5 seems more sensible overall. Either way, you’ll need to reinstall Windows since switching chipset generations means incompatible drivers. This is my core setup for AM5. The Pro B650-S WIFI is impressive in its simplicity. For the 8xx generation boards, the minimum specs are built-in for power delivery, except for the cheapest A620 and B850 boards which struggle with high RAM speeds or flagship CPUs. You can pick a board that matches your needs, and you’ll likely end up with something premium. PCPartPicker’s list is solid—AMD Ryzen 5 7600 3.8 GHz 6-core at $184.96, MSI PRO B650-S WIFI ATX AM5 at $139.99, G.Skill Flare X5 32 GB DDR5-6000 CL30 at $99.99. Total comes to about $424.94, including shipping and taxes. This guide helps you explore further. Most Wi-Fi 7 and 6E boards include Bluetooth too, but double-check the details. My top picks are B850 LiveMixer Wifi, Gigabyte B650 Gaming X AX V2, or Eagle 6E.

Thanks! He mentioned AMD5 is more affordable for improved performance. I was wondering if choosing the AMD Rayzen 7 9800X3D would be superior compared to the Rayzen 7 7600, or if it might not be as good. Appreciate your advice!
