If this requires relocation, I can remove it or a moderator might handle the move. I wasn’t certain about the placement. Following the title, I’m searching for a more suitable internet plan. I’m considering hardwiring my computer instead of depending on Wi-Fi. Since I’m in America, I’m limited to the ISP system we have, which means there will always be at least one provider offering better service than the rest—though prices tend to be higher. If you have any concerns or tools to explore, let me know. I prefer not to share personal details here unless everyone agrees.

In most parts of the country, the smart move is to switch back and forth yearly to catch discounts. They sometimes miss your number because it was already registered with them. This strategy works best if you live in a city or suburban area. For rural regions, it’s much harder to stay competitive.

The FCC provides a directory of ISPs. It isn't entirely accurate, but it should point you in the right direction. If you reside in a city or suburban area, you usually have a cable and phone service. The phone company may provide fiber internet similar to what AT&T offers in certain regions. Verizon and T-Mobile deliver 4G/5G connectivity. Regarding pricing, you often need to switch providers regularly. You might need to cancel your current plan and register under another name to secure a better rate. If you prefer Comcast, it’s likely the only viable option for many people. Depending on the service, you can sometimes save money by installing your own modem.
