I recently grew tired of Windows 8’s basic plan and boring boot screen. I wanted to personalize it like with Windows 7, but only managed to tweak the small logo. I’m after a fresh look—changing the spinning animation and the black background to something new, just like on Windows 7. I don’t want to go back to Windows 7; I really like the GUI here. (I know it’s not common) But honestly, I’m having trouble finding anyone asking about these details. That’s why I thought of posting this and hoping someone with experience can help. If the problem is that the bootres file lacks certain info, maybe we can copy a custom bootres from Windows 7 and sign it over to replace the current one?

I believe it's similar to version 7, but try a virtual machine first (like VMware) and check it out initially. Make sure to test on a backup system before applying it to your primary PC.
