Searching for a cost-effective motherboard to support a 12600k processor with 3200MHz DDR4 RAM, using an older Ryzen 1600X build. Budget around $200 CAD for the board, aiming to access OC profiles.

I'm looking for a suitable package if I can't find one. Otherwise, I might opt for that mobile or the MSI MAG Z690 TOMAHAWK WIFI DDR4.

Are you referring to OC/XMP settings for the memory? The B660 supports that as well. It seems Z690 isn't suitable for a 200 Canadian build, and you'd likely need Z690 for CPU overclocking.

I considered relying solely on the BIOS auto options to overclock the CPU and then reduce its power consumption, as discussed by Jayztwocents.

The tomahawk seems to be the stronger option among the two, though the asrock board offers good value for 200 cad. It handles a 12900k well and has some useful features, except for the rear USB port.

It would help if you could adjust it similarly, achieving a solid Z690 result. My work with underclocking on a fairly simple MSI Z690 PRO-A has been quite effective.

I can obtain the 12600k using the tomahawk board for $546, which seems like a solid offer.
