I'm working with an older Powerspec H81H3-WM board paired with an i3 4340 chipset. You're aiming to upgrade to a 4790, but the manual mentions support for i7. After removing two 4790s, you're still not getting a POST. You think a BIOS update might be necessary, though you can't find one online. Someone has any suggestions on where to source this? Thanks in advance.

Powerspec typically relies on updated versions of retail or OEM boards, making it difficult to locate BIOS updates. It’s possible you’re using a B-stock OEM version, which usually comes with limited BIOS support.

It might be due to bent pins. High-end CPUs require more pins compared to lower models.

Do you have any details about Joe handling this? I've looked at two 4790s, but they don't have bent pins. I'd like to upgrade it to an i7 for a friend.
