For 300 Mbps, to reach that rate on Wi-Fi you need an AC device. Here’s a refreshed Linksys model for just $25.

If they aren’t familiar with tech, the best approach is to visit Amazon, type in a 300mbps router search, and arrange results from lowest to highest. Those without brand recognition should stick to popular options like ASUS, TP-Link, Netgear, or any affordable models. The main factor that could differ is the Wi-Fi strength.
