These affordable motherboards are becoming more common as demand rises for budget-friendly options. This trend is real but be cautious—always verify compatibility and quality before purchasing.

I assume they offer free shipping as well. Occasionally it isn't a scam if the seller charges around $200 for shipping, bringing the price back to normal. In that scenario it’s likely not a scam—it’s just a clear attempt. You can review their eBay reviews. If there are no positive comments about a motherboard, that’s a warning sign. A few negative reviews or many complaints about a motherboard would be a red flag.

It seems like a fairly affordable, lesser-known motherboard for older Intel chipsets (like x79 or x99) is likely safe. Craft Computing has used them before for budget builds targeting LGA2011-3 Xeons. However, spending just $10 on a modern socket feels unrealistic—probably they’re trying to downplay the price.

I haven’t purchased anything cheap, yet I found several solid offers. It was my first time buying on Ebay—a used CPU that didn’t work properly. I returned it and received my money back without extra charges beyond the postage. Up to now, the other three items I bought have been reasonable purchases. I tend to stick with Canadian sellers and those that look trustworthy. It appears they offer stronger buyer safeguards compared to Craigslist and Facebook Market. Last year I got a $103 X570 TUF Gaming WiFi for just under $100, which was my top deal.

Review the listing carefully and look for any hidden details. I’ve only purchased two PC parts via eBay—used GTX 970 and Ryzen 3200G after the GTX 970 stopped working and it came with other items. My overall impression is a 50/50, but I wouldn’t risk buying from eBay unless it’s a solid deal for a brand new product from a trustworthy seller or store.

Generally speaking, low cost often indicates poor quality.
