Hi there, I'm looking for a VPN or a DIY setup with these requirements: 1. port forwarding 2. white listing via URL (like Netflix) so it bypasses the tunnel 3. LAN traffic allowed without blocking 4. ad blocking (optional, not essential). I've tried Expressvpn and Surfshark but both didn't meet the criteria. Openvpn on Google Cloud also failed. I'm not ready to waste more money and hope you can help me find a better option.

Configure the PfSense firewall, activate the VPN there, ensuring all internal traffic works smoothly. This enhances overall security. Boost the adblocking features as well. You should definitely find a method to monitor data leaving via the VPN.

Thanks for the effort, but I chose to stop using a VPN. The only connections I need protection for are communications with financial sites and SSH links to my NAS. Those platforms already use HTTPS, which is secure enough on its own, and SSH works well independently. I’ve often been advised to use a VPN for broader internet protection, but in this case it feels unnecessary. I’ll stick to HTTPS everywhere to guarantee my devices always use secure connections.
