I didn't find anything problematic with the suggestions you gave; I was mainly curious about why certain opinions were considered negative. I admit I enjoyed the RGB on the steel legend but can't stand the synth track. I'm aiming for something more than just a basic board, so a mortar max seems like the right choice. I might wait until Cyber Monday to look for a good deal.
It's a 2700x format. You can always add RGB strips if needed, but the b450 SL feels like a small part and is too expensive for its features. The boards I mentioned should work fine for a 2700x setup.
