Good morning everyone, my Steam account was recently stolen—definitely not a good sign. I reached out to Steam and told them about the issue; they asked me to provide a CD key for verification. Unfortunately, Google has already deleted my emails after a month, so I don’t have any confirmation or receipts from past purchases. Still, all the games remain downloaded on my computer. I’m wondering if there’s a way to recover a game key from the files left on my PC.

Give them your Steam payment details if you really don’t know what you’re doing, unless you’re extremely clueless and haven’t ever purchased anything through Steam. Otherwise, you’re in trouble.

Consider trying to recover lost or forgotten legal CD keys or serial numbers for your PC games. Also think about turning off the email notifications to avoid any extra stress. Don’t lose anything more crucial.

I confirmed the last four digits and used the name listed on the card. I’ll definitely activate the program on that site and updated passwords for email, Discord, and a few other apps following the incident.

All details are connected to your Steam account. When my account was stolen, they asked for Debit Card information and a list of recent transactions to restore it. You can use bank statements to find purchase records. If you haven’t bought anything through Steam before, reach out to the source of the purchases. I’m not sure if other platforms keep transaction logs with access keys, and I’m also unsure how pleased they’d be learning it came from a suspicious site—keep that in mind as an option.

I also think it’s a good plan—I have a G2A account, so I’ll check there to see if my transactions are visible.

Irrelevant, only the debit card details needed (as it was for me)
