I've changed her operating system from Windows 8.1 to Zorin OS Lite because the previous Windows setup seemed unstable, possibly due to corruption. [She's not very familiar with technology, so I handle these changes.] Fortunately, the installation completed successfully and she’s remained online without issues. However, I’d like to switch Firefox for Yandex since it’s gaining traction against competitors. After reviewing Yandex’s official site, I saw a few Beta options but prefer the standard version if available. But I’m unsure if it exists. Could anyone confirm whether the regular version is supported for Zorin OS Lite and share the installation steps? [I’m not very comfortable with command-line tasks, but I’m eager to learn.] Please let me know if you have any questions or need further clarification!

When it isn't found on the site or in the Ubuntu repositories, it's likely a newer release that hasn't been fully refined. Consider using an alternative browser like Brave or Chromium, which are widely used by Linux users who prefer not to rely on Firefox.

Is there a reason why you want Yandex? Its another chromium based browser, so Id just use chrome or chromium here. Same web engine in both. And firefox is doing pretty well, I don't see a reason not to use firefox if it doesn't have a issue.

I'm not sure if the standard edition is accessible in the Ubuntu repositories, as I'm not very familiar with Linux and don't use it regularly. Could someone verify this for me?

It doesn't quite match the performance of Chromium-based browsers. However, from what I see, Yandex offers significantly more features than Chrome and Firefox. It's a solid choice if you prefer something different from standard Chromium versions!

I've already verified the presence of that message in those repositories. If you wish to search independently, visit this site: https://packages.ubuntu.com/. Alternatively, use the command `apt search <package_name>` replacing <package_name> with your desired term, such as Yandex. It's advisable to consider other Chromium-based browsers instead of beta versions. Brave remains an excellent choice, and sticking with the official Chromium version is straightforward.
