I purchased the HP 2710e scanner but am displeased because it requires me to sign up on HP+ and stay constantly online, even for simple tasks. The only way to use it is through a third-party app for printing and scanning. I intend to return the HP scanner and purchase a Canon model instead. Do you know if Canon uses the same approach (always online – mandatory registration) or can Canon scanners work offline too? Additionally, are there any recommended apps for Windows 10 that allow printing and scanning with basic editing features? Thank you.
You likely configured the instant ink setting with the printer, which is why it asked you to log in and stay online. This allows it to track your ink levels and deliver them automatically. If a product lacks this capability, you can operate it offline without any problems.
