Consider upgrading from 16GB to 32GB by looking for another 2x8GB package—either a 4x8GB configuration or a full set of 2x16GB units. Check if DDR4 is available in 16GB kits. Ensure the case is low-profile enough to fit under an NHD14. A 3000 CL15 seems suitable; you might want faster speeds, but compatibility with your B450 board should be verified.
I owned 4x8GB before. I wish I had done it differently. Eventually I sold it and bought 2x16GB. The main issues are: -Ram #2 and #3 have poor airflow because they’re placed next to Ram #1 and #4. Especially with the large heat sink, they stick together without any space. -The four sticks aren’t very stable. Their performance depends on whether the kits fit well together. If they work nicely, you’re in luck. Otherwise, you’ll face errors and crashes. -Setting Auto mode on M/B speeds up the RAM timing, which reduces overall speed. -Diagnosing problems is frustrating. When something fails, your M/B will sound a warning about the RAM issue and won’t boot. Which RAM is the problem? Is it #1, #2, #3 or #4? This stick doesn’t fit in this slot. It seems dirty or defective. It functions fine when inserted alone, but not when paired. We’re working on a fix here.
