Hey there. It’s my birthday today, and I’m thinking about getting a new CPU. My current i5-7500 isn’t up to the job with my 2070 SUPER and the 1440p 165hz screen. I’m not sure what to choose, but I want something that can handle everything smoothly and keep up with my full setup.

Great news! The 3600 with a B450 Tomahawk Max offers excellent value for money.

A 3900 feels like a significant jump; whether it's worth it depends on what you value. The 4000 series offers more power and features, so if you're looking for that extra boost, it might be worth the wait.

For gaming purposes only, it's quite excessive. If you're patient for a few months, it should be worthwhile. For those willing to spend more than the current 3600 and b450 tomahawk max, the 4700x is available and pairs well with an MSI Mag B550 tomahawk.

We anticipate a significant leap in the 4000s.

I believe it is around 30-40% increase but I’m not 100% sure what the most recent leak is.

I believe the newest model offers a 20% jump in IPC. Probably no die shrink either. I suggest the 3700X + B550 A-Pro! Right now this unit is selling for a great deal ($280 versus the original $329) and it can drop even more!
