Hey everyone. I'm curious about what CPU options might be best in the coming years! I need something reliable for about 4 to 5 years and capable of strong performance. My current i7 4790k isn't keeping up, especially with tasks like running Kaspersky while browsing files. It feels like it's struggling, whether it's related to CPU or other factors. My mom's new CPU seems to be handling things much better.

The 4790k offers solid performance for gaming, browsing, and daily tasks. It begins to show slower speeds when handling heavy multitasking or many simultaneous activities.

I really appreciate the AMD series of processors. They perform well even without overclocking. I enjoy titles such as Doom, Wolfenstein II: The New Collosus, Age of Empires 1 & 2 in their original resolution, and my Ryzen 2700x isn't even overclocked. Just a note that if you're looking for gaming performance, it depends on more than just the CPU—you'll also need a decent GPU. I have a 1080p 8GB GDDR5X and everything is fine.

Stock left - just when I tried overclocking, especially while gaming. I have Kaspersky and Malwarebytes installed. Before you mentioned it, I already set them up to run independently without interfering. Occasionally I notice lag or slowdowns. I suspect there could be a problem with the malware scanner, but honestly, I wanted to upgrade my system a long time ago.

The terms refer to the same thing: frames per second (FPS).

Games and browsing are common. Coding and video editing are possible, though less likely.

Currently I play PUBG, and my GTX 1070 is sufficient for now. Perhaps when a better IPS model at 144Hz on a 27-inch monitor becomes available in this country, I’ll upgrade to a new GPU. The reason for wanting it is that my old mother PC, built a few months ago with an MB- ASUS Prime B365M-A and an i5-8400, runs much faster than mine. That’s why I think the older one should be upgraded.

Also someone can clarify the distinction with ClockSpeed.
