From around 130$ R5 2500U you can upgrade to 3500U, then 30$ each time, and 5500U is a 60$ jump over 4500U. There are many similar R3 models like 2200U/2300U/3250U at comparable prices. I’m curious about the best value for Witcher 3/RDR2 at 720p Low specs. Should I opt for a 3500U model or wait until 4500U to ensure smooth performance? Is the gap between 4500U and 5500U significant enough to justify upgrading, focusing on frames per second? Would sticking with 4500U suffice? Also, how do PRO versions fit into this decision? Would it make sense to consider newer Ryzen 3 models since 5300U outperforms 3500U for example?
Ofc, but I don't stress about the rest because most of what else is irrelevant or can be upgraded easily. My focus is on the part that's hard to change, unlike RAM for example, and moving forward. If I find a CPU and GPU setup that matches my needs, I can tweak everything else around it. Plus, it looks like most listings already include 8/16 gigabytes of RAM, a 1080p screen, and a 256GB SSD, which fits perfectly. Still, I keep getting that FOMO—wondering if I should just spend a little extra and upgrade later. In the end, I’d probably waste $500,600 on a laptop I only need for about three weeks every six months for basic tasks.
