Searching for a dead Ethernet port assistance.
There were no power spikes, I also attempted to update the BIOS but it didn’t work. The only missing components are the PCIe adapters.
Have you attempted to reset your CMOS? Avoid restoring settings directly in your BIOS; instead, manually clear your CMOS via a button or jumper on your board (or briefly remove the battery) and observe the results.
Resetting CMOS is about ensuring the system starts fresh, which can affect how Ethernet connects properly. I’ll proceed with it.
All motherboards come with LAN turned on by default. If your BIOS settings have become damaged and the network card is stuck off, resetting the CMOS might fix the issue. It can be tricky to figure out what’s wrong, but it’s easy to test and helps confirm the problem isn’t with the BIOS. Your initial idea was to re-flash the BIOS, but you mentioned you’ve already done that.
I performed a CMOS reset but still nothing works. It seems you might have downgraded the BIOS. Perhaps a newer feature in the updated BIOS affected everything. I went through all the BIOS settings and configurations, and there was nothing else except the Realtek LAN adapter which is enabled. I also looked up the exact name of the Realtek onboard LAN controller—it’s a strange Realtek 8112L gigabit LAN driver, but I couldn’t find the driver online.
The driver is listed on your motherboard support page, but it doesn’t necessarily do anything unless you install and use it properly.
