Would you like to know if another cable has been tested or used elsewhere to eliminate this part as the issue? Are your network card details visible in Device Manager? You mentioned seeing all WAN ports, but not confirming the standard adapter is absent. Have you verified that it wasn’t turned off in the BIOS?

I used the bios there, it’s a Realtek LAN adapter and it’s turned on. The cable works perfectly—connecting to my laptop gave me a stable internet connection. In Device Manager, I see several WAN mini ports, which is unusual for this setup. I’m puzzled because it seems like the only problem on my system.

Maybe it's one of those unknown chips like Intel, Realtek, Qualcomm or Atheros. It might lack a driver, so Linux doesn't come pre-installed.

Yes, it's unusual since I usually work with plug-and-play Ethernet. This time it looks like the BIOS or the physical Ethernet connection might be the issue, and the WAN mini port appears in Device Manager.

WAN mini ports are always there mate, don't worry about them. They are for minifilter network drivers to do their work on various protocols, like filtering (firewall) or scanning (NIS or antivirus). Do you see your regular adapter anywhere on the list? Here's mine for example, and you can see my actual adapter listed here along with a few virtual ones and all of my WAN miniports.

The Ethernet adapter appears to be missing entirely, only showing the WAN mini connections. It seems odd that one of the network ports is completely nonfunctional. Could this be due to a motherboard issue affecting the Ethernet connection?

Device Manager may not show Ethernet ports anymore due to rare issues. Ports can fail severely and stop appearing entirely. Power spikes often affect them too. Have you noticed similar problems lately?
