The key point is receiving another SODIMM RAM module with speeds matching or exceeding the MOBO's capabilities. Generally, it's preferable to choose a module that performs at least as well as current options.

At best it would match the same RAM. It shouldn't be difficult to locate (used). If you can't find an identical one, aim for something nearly alike—same manufacturer, matching rows, similar timing, and voltage. The key is remembering the distinction between DDR3L and DDR3, both important points.
