I'm searching for a compact mini-ITX board with a single M.2 port for NVMe storage, two SATA connections, and improved speed compared to an older Intel i5-2320. At least 16GB of DDR4 or DDR5 memory is sufficient for my needs and testing self-hosted servers. The topic was adjusted after discovering that a Compaq Presario SR1803WM can also fit a mini-ITX motherboard after disassembly. Updated on December 10, 2024 by MC.Morrado

The most actively cooled models beyond flagship overclocking boards are often embedded processors. For socketed systems, cooling the CPU depends mainly on the cooler you select, not the board itself.

The built-in CPU, such as the Intel N100, still works much better than most components I own. Right now I’m not in a position to spend time searching for parts or buying a new CPU and heatsink. I’m just looking for a motherboard and don’t have the time or budget for weeks of online hunting.
