Hi there, I'm looking for guidance on finding a suitable motherboard. Could you confirm if any M-ATX Z97 boards offered the ability to set up PCIe lanes in an x8-x4-x4 layout across multiple slots, or if they included a PLX chip that guaranteed at least 8-4-2 bandwidth for those three slots? I'm also curious about other full ATX options that could handle this configuration. The MSI Z97 Gaming 5 is a good example since it works without a PLX chip thanks to its 16 PCIe lanes from the CPU. Let me know if anyone has any recommendations or insights! Cheers.

I believe locating that Z97 board would be harder than finding one with those characteristics. It seems they’re nearing the end of their lifespan.

Matx will likely dominate the situation. If the cards are single-slot, it could work out well. The ASUS Maximus vii gene might play a role.
