I enjoy realistic visuals and shooters or open-world RPGs with engaging combat. For instance, Fortnight doesn’t suit me because it feels too "cartoon-y". Sorry if you like it... it’s just not the right fit for me. What games would you suggest that match this style?

I recently upgraded my PC for gaming and started playing these titles:
Witcher 3
Middle Earth Shadow of War
Skyrim
I also added Crysis Trilogy since I wanted a challenging experience even on older hardware.
During the holiday, I purchased these games via Steam:
Metro 2033
Metro Last Light
Just Cause 3
Deus X Mankind
AC Odyssey
I’ve tried everything except JC3 and Deus X, so I’m tackling those now. Really enjoyed Metro, but I’m holding off on Exodus until it’s around $20.

Looking for suggestions about games that might be overlooked.

Fallout titles (3, NV and 4), Bioshock, and the latest Tomb Raider releases are exceptionally enjoyable.

Bump, Apex is also quite good, and the Far Cry series is tapping into the same vibe.

I completely agree, the top five PC games I play are the new Tomb Raider titles, Bioshock, Fallout, Metro, and The Witcher. Another game I really liked was Max Payne 3—it's often available for about $10 on Steam and key resellers, which is pretty cool. The campaigns for Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4 are also excellent.

It seems to match what I need. I’m hoping for a discount or a sale, or else I might have to build an AMD version to get the game free... must be smart to save money!

Fallout could work too. I remember some folks being upset about bugs when I checked it last time. I own the original Bioshock on DVD, so I can play it if I ever need an external drive.

Tomb Raider... should I check older versions or stick with the newest?

Thanks!

I’ll take a look.

I already have FC5 but haven’t played it yet. Perhaps I should just finish it, haha.

I prefer $10 Steam keys.

All those titles, including Skyrim, come with numerous bugs. Although I've spent a solid 50-70 hours on each Fallout game without encountering major issues, just begin with the one released in 2013, then ROTR and SOTR. They're all excellent games and well-paced.

Thanks, buddy. Yeah, Skyrim had its share of issues but nothing that really broke the game. It’s definitely the one I’ve played the most, so maybe I should jump into Fallout and check out what happens next.

Edit—I notice you seem a bit down... are you into skiing? If so, I get it... warm weather and sunshine really mess with my mood.

Well if you're keen on NV being on sale
Here, it makes sense
And unfortunately, for me it's the reverse, I switched that back in January during my winter term at university.
Gloomy mornings, chilly air and demanding classes really don't work out well.

I suggested these earlier today, so I thought it best to paste them here as well since they match what you're looking for...
