You're looking to verify if the switch configuration you discovered in the dump functions correctly. Since you're planning to power the switch and connect two devices without linking them to your network, focus on testing the physical connections and basic functionality. Make sure the devices are properly powered and communicating through the switch before proceeding.

Connect the router to handle DNS settings. Then share files via the window file-sharing feature and check the network manager for traffic activity.

Unfortunately I can't use a router for this task. Connecting Ethernet to the switch isn't possible, and my boss has already made this decision.

You might configure fixed IP addresses when required or operate the DHCP server on a specific PC if necessary.

I'm sorry, but I don't have a strong grasp of network concepts, so I might not fully understand what you're asking. Could you rephrase your request in simpler terms? I'm happy to help once I have a clearer idea.

Choose a fixed IP address without relying on DHCP or adopt DHCP for simplicity. Connect two computers and a router—this setup allows the router to handle all network configurations automatically.

Establish the network first, then configure Windows file sharing and large file transfers such as 5 GB or bigger files.

He told me the app should test a network card without Ethernet, using just a switch. No router needed, and no Windows file sharing since it shouldn’t be too demanding.
