Hey there, so I’ve been thinking about that game you mentioned. It was an FPS with vehicles, but I’m struggling to recall the title. I just want to know if anyone has any idea what it was. From what I remember, it had a military theme, pretty low graphics compared to games like Counterstrike Source or 1.6, and it was probably a smaller developer—maybe not on Steam. It seemed free.
I recall it being on PC only, with huge, open maps that felt more like real-world environments than the modern, stylized ones we see today. The themes were desert and village-like, not overly imaginative. I remember it had a deathmatch mode where vehicles respawned after being destroyed, and there was a bomb scenario similar to what you’d find in CS:GO or CoD competitive modes.
If you’re looking for help finding it, any clues would be great! Thanks a lot.
It is a very old game though, came out in 2002, game still had players when I check back in 2010. Maps were HUGE!!! well huge is a big understatement as they were never ending. There were loads of game modes (didn't play them all but I think there was one like that) and tens of thousands of maps. Even if it is not the game you were looking for it is still a brilliant game, not sure if there are any players still on, but if there is you should check it out if you are into old military shooters.
I'm pretty sure the game was free to play and you're really close, Markus—it feels similar to that one. Do you know of others with that style? The game was free when I played it a few years back, which might help identify it. Knock it, it leans more like Black Hawk Down, while Ghost Recon is very tech-heavy.
