The only thought that crosses my mind is Just Cause 2 Multiplayer.
I'm still hanging around here. Personally, the only games I'm waiting for are ArcheAge, and maybe Black Desert. Check them out if you'd like, but neither of them are released yet. I don't know of any other games that will provide long-term entertainment for you and your friends that fits all your criteria, even if I sacrifice some of the bullets.
Diablo 2 barely hits most of your expectations, yet it always delivers a strong experience that stays fresh.
It seems most options don’t quite match what you’re looking for. The only game that came close is Firefall, though a few friends are unsure about it because it’s an MMO with no clear ending. I saw Black Desert and thought it looked interesting, but it’s not available yet. ArcheAge is a bit fuzzy in my memory—maybe I read or saw something about it, but it didn’t really appeal to me. Thanks for the recommendations!
Explore APB. I'm not sure if it's still around, but I used to play the multiplayer mod for GTA SA. There were no missions, just sandbox, deathmatch, and stunt servers—super fun. Even though GTA SA is quite old now, in my opinion it's a classic that never goes out of style.
However, numerous individuals claim it's unsuitable. That's why I excluded it from my collection! Do they really think so? Could it be beneficial?
APB offers a strong system for customizing characters, but overall the experience feels average. The community around the game is often negative, filled with trolls, profanity, and possibly discriminatory behavior. Many players, even those who spend a lot of time playing—like your friend who has logged over 2000 hours—still advise against it. You might be surprised by how much frustration it causes, especially if you're not used to the lag or disengage quickly. While it could be great in theory, practical issues make it unsuitable for most people. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
