Adjusted my requirements slightly after discussing with friends. Now I’m focusing on finding a cooperative game for us to play together. We’re both interested in an RPG with an open-world or sandbox style, deep character creation and customization, and a modern/fantasy setting. The game should have non-linear goals, be available on PC, and preferably not an MMO or WoW clone. It should be no more than two years old, offer a third-person perspective (or at least not top-down), and avoid side-scrolling. If you think of any titles that match these points—especially those without pay-to-win elements, excessive grinding, or MMORPG features—please share them. I’m open to suggestions beyond what’s already mentioned.
Just Cause 2 with multiplayer—no goals, just a lot of entertainment.
I'm searching for an engaging option that keeps things interesting. I've enjoyed RuneScape with friends a lot, and still check in on others' accounts in OSRS. It offers endless updates. However, it doesn't quite match what I hope for. I'm looking for something with rich features, attractive visuals, and a unique setting—more content than RS, but with the same or even more material.
Finding a game like this i know will be very hard but when a good one does pop up or is made or is even in the works even that would be great for many of us who are looking for a bit more. Not to mention an actual decent game! Checked out APB already tried it out didn't like it (forgot to mention it) as for Just Cause 2, while it does look fun, the lack of objectives makes it about as fun as minecraft (aka gets boring fast) at least for me anyway.
I’ve explored Firefall quite a bit and found it really intriguing. It’s definitely on my list of games to think about. Thanks for the recommendation. One of my friends mentioned it feels like a lower-tier version of Planetside 2, but with a more stylized art approach—more like Borderlands. I’m still searching for more ideas to add!
