It’s feasible to combine the Google mesh network and modem under a single Wi-Fi name. However, using the modem as a central hub might work better than relying solely on the mesh. Since your modem is a Netgear C7000v2 with an Ac1900 chipset, you can utilize all its Ethernet ports for the modem connection, which could be more efficient than forcing a Gigabit switch into the mesh’s limited ports.
What people refer to as a modem is actually a gateway, often called a modem/router. A typical modem for coaxial service wouldn't support WiFi or NAT functionality. It connects the ISP's line (coax) and delivers an Ethernet connection. Although you can configure the gateway's SSID to match what Google uses, it won't be integrated into the mesh network. Devices won't be able to connect to Google services and vice versa. ALSO, since the modem acts as a gateway, the Google Mesh system will operate under double NAT.
