So I've tried out the steam controller for a while. I found that Tropico 5 was excellent with the steam controller and I'm trying to find more games for it. (It works quite well in front of a desk, Luke ) Also, it's a great website-remote in case someone wanted to know.
Consider Dark Souls 1 and 2, especially since they feel less comfortable with a keyboard and you played them on a PS2 controller.
