I've seen many differing views on both topics and am curious if either offers real Windows keys. I know G2A codes usually last about 31 days, and I wonder if r/softwareswap follows the same rule. Paying $100 for a key really feels expensive, so your concerns are valid. Your insights would be really helpful. Thanks.

I haven't received a key from either source. However, I understand they aren't valid after 31 days. At G2A they're MSDN keys, typically lasting 1-2 years. Still not fully certain about r/softwareswap.

To ensure authenticity, these platforms typically offer genuine purchases at $100, though they may occasionally distribute MSDN keys that aren't intended for sale.

I prefer purchasing an authentic version from a reliable seller, avoiding options such as g2a since they function more like marketplaces like Amazon.

Many Windows 8.1 keys found on sites like softwarewap and g2a come from school programs. (Microsoft Dreamspark)

Sure thing. It seems you might end up paying the full amount, but there could be a student discount available via Microsoft.

Even a short period of 1-2 years, I’ll choose G2A. Ten euros equals about two Big Macs.

The duration is uncertain, but it's worth understanding.

Unsure about this. I’ll see what happens when I get back from work.
