Everything is made from original hardware, including the mouse, keyboard, and monitor—all Ergo Pro X models. However, Windows 98 is installed instead of the usual 95, and I won’t change that. There are USB ports available, but they don’t work properly, likely due to missing drivers. I’m trying to download the correct drivers for my motherboard (I don’t know the exact model) and install them on a Fujitsu Ergo Pro X. The main issue is finding drivers that work with this specific PC and Windows 98 setup. Any suggestions on what I should do or how to identify the right ones? TIA

Have you verified the BIOS settings to confirm USB ports are properly arranged? Also, are IRQs configured accurately? Newer gadgets often lack many current features, so revisit the fundamentals.

I hadn't considered that before, good suggestion! I suppose I'd have to look it up online... Are those jumpers? I think I have one or two but I'm not sure how to operate them. The warning was to avoid using them unless I understand their purpose, since the system functions otherwise except for USB. It might actually be a solution (though I'm not sure about the IRQ part). I assumed USB ports would work properly, but it's possible the previous owner changed things—maybe they added extra components like a Fujitsu PCI card and a broken Ergo Pro X for spare parts. The PC isn't properly configured right now, which is why I'm asking. I was planning to set it up but realized the device manager showed "no drivers." I wonder if I need the motherboard model? Are Windows 98 USB drivers enough? I'll try booting from BIOS, but I think the right drivers are essential.

Edit: I found some drivers online, though I'm unsure which ones are correct. The website doesn't load well for me—no details on the second file.

It seems I'm remembering it right: Windows 98 doesn't include mass storage or USB drivers, so they must be installed first. It's odd since the machine is older than Windows 98 and has USB ports.}
