Hi Everyone, I'm checking if Corning's Thunderbolt 3 Optical Cables can fit with the USB-C Gen 3.2 port on the rear I/O of my ROG Strix X570-I Gaming Motherboard. I want to set up a larger desktop setup with a 4K 120Hz display and a single 2K 100Hz ultrawide monitor, bringing the total to two screens. Even if it works, I'd only need CPU graphics for peripherals, not the display, which would be ideal. I'm planning to run a DisplayPort 1.4a or 2.0 cable alongside it, covering about 5-7 meters. Also, if I don't use the cable for the display, could I still connect a 10m USB-C cable for mouse, keyboard, and controller? I've already considered the Asus ThunderboltEX 4 card and other PCI-E cards, but my Mini-ITX board only has one PCI-E slot for the GPU. I'm not sure if that would work without a Thunderbolt-compatible board, which seems necessary. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Alternatively, use Thunderbolt as a signal cable. Your mainboard’s USB-C port also provides power, so you’ll need a card with an integrated Thunderbolt port. For 4K, position the system close to the monitor—maximum display length is about 2 meters. Longer distances limit it to 1080p. If your motherboard supports Thunderbolt internally, you can connect a Thunderbolt dock. As a mini-ITX unit, only a GPU mount is possible, just as you mentioned. I’m familiar with laptops; it’s feasible to choose the GPU through the dock. This configuration might work on desktops too, though it’s not confirmed yet.
