Right! So I'm currently picking parts for my first ever gaming PC. For me, loading times are one of the most crucial part of the experience, so I decided to go for SSD only. Therefore, I picked a Sabrent Rocket NVMe SSD with its beautiful 3450 MB/s read and 3000MB/s write to go along with my Ryzen 5 3600 and graphics card (that's not quite fixed yet, depending on the cyber monday prices somewhere from RTX 2060 Super to RTX 2070 Super ). But here's the issue: I'd like 2TB of storage , the Sabrent Rocket 1TB is available for about 120€, the Sabrent Rocket 2TB for about 300€. So to save money and help dissipate heat better, I've decided to buy 2x Sabrent Rocket 1TB rather than 1x Sabrent Rocket 2TB. Now that's all perfect, but in case Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals are not as good as I hope, I need to save some money so I can still afford a good graphics card. Currently, I picked a Gigabyte X570 Gaming X which has 2 M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 slots (if my datasheet is indeed correct). I now need an alternative AM4 motherboard that features 2x M.2 PCIe 3.1 (or newer) x4 slots . Does anyone know an affordable and good choice? Is this even a good idea in the first place? Last of all, do M.2 SSDs require cooling or is the airflow of the Fractal Design Meshify C case enough? Ask anything you need to know! Greetings, L. F.

This product doesn't exist. The only PCIe standard without a zero at the end is PCIe 1.1. Some users have noticed issues with Rockets models featuring PCIe x2 SSD controllers, which can negatively impact performance. For US purchases, the Team MP34 offers a better value. If you have space for four SATA ports, consider MSI B450 ATX boards. The Gaming X model isn't great from a performance standpoint, but it's adequate for its price. It does need cooling, though heatsinks aren't strictly necessary. For alternatives, look into Meshify C with additional front fans, Phanteks P400A, Corsair 275R airflow, or Cooler Master NR600. Regarding the memory kit and power supply, no specific recommendations were given.

Hey there! The 3.1 from Geizhals Germany seems solid, though sometimes specs can be a bit off. Thanks for sharing all the details! I’m not very familiar with PC components, but every piece of info is useful. For the memory, I’m going with the Patriot Viper 4 Blackout 16 GB DDR4-3200 and a quiet PSU. The power supply is the 9 500 W 80+ Bronze certified model—plenty for my needs. I haven’t really considered much, just chose something reasonably priced that meets the requirements. The PSU specs are a bit higher than what PCPartPicker suggested, but that should still be fine. I understand they might not be modular, but I’m okay with that and won’t pay extra for it. My budget is around 1400€. Greetings, L. F. Quick note: I’m based in Germany.

B450 panels accommodate up to one PCIe 3.0 4x M.2 slot. Remaining M.2 slots are either 2.0 x4 or 2.0 x2. Note: The ASUS TUF X570 priced at 165$ offers better value compared to the X570 Gaming version.

Both options perform adequately, meeting the 80+ mark which mainly highlights efficiency rather than overall quality or functionality. The 2070S model is acceptable as long as the power supply provides sufficient cables for operation (I haven't verified that). The chipset remains stable without downgrading to PCIe 2.0 for additional lanes, though this can happen for extra PCIe slots or SATA controllers depending on the design.

These processors are compatible with PCIe 2.0 only, not 3.0 or higher.

The information regarding PCIe slots or lanes is incomplete. It seems the details might have been truncated. They likely discuss USB 3.1 specifications, mentioning Gen 1 and Gen 2 versions, speeds, and compatibility between different connectors. PCIe 4.0 offers higher bandwidth, while older standards like PCIe 3.0 provide lower rates. Certain motherboards support dual M.2 slots with PCIe 4.0 lanes, but some configurations may limit performance. Pricing options are also provided for relevant products.

It's a bit pricey at 200€ in Germany, isn't it? Could there be a more affordable option? Your friend's ASRock Phantom Gaming 4 might not be the best choice—what do you think about other cheaper alternatives?

Wait for the mention of 200$ boards, then check if any of the suggested options are affordable. Good choices in Germany usually stay around that price. Maybe consider the Z390 then.
