I bought a costly insulate cable, though I'm uncertain about its lightning protection. The routers in house two are close together, so moving them apart reduces signal quality. I suspect the chimney in the center disrupts the connection. For better coverage throughout the home, I need to reconsider placement. Setting up router 2 as an access point might cause issues for devices that move between houses. Using a Velop node with Ethernet support could be simpler.

A switch differs from a router, though a router may include a built-in switch. Not every green area marked as “router” is part of the Velop mesh network. Provide details on all network devices—including their make and model—and describe their connections. Also share information about your ISP device, and consider a visual diagram for clarity.

In house 1, the red dot signifies an Aris TM1602 and a Spectrum RAC2V1K that turned out to be a router with an integrated switch. The Aris modem comes from Spectrum. In house 1, the green dots indicate mesh points for the Velop system. For house number 2, the single green dot represents a Netgear AC 1450
