Looking for a top-tier motherboard that supports I7 9700K overclocking and offers solid features within a $200–300 budget? Consider the B550 or B660 series—both provide robust overclocking potential, ample PCIe slots, and great build quality.

I believe the $300 boards are overpriced. I’d prefer a model near $200 with solid power delivery. As long as you have a reliable power source and quality silicon, the performance boost from moving from 200 to 300 should be negligible—unless you’re pushing extreme overclocking. I can easily reach 5ghz on my Strix Z-390i. Also, remember that spending an extra $100 on the motherboard offers little gain, whereas the same amount could bring you very close to a 9900k.
