It could be a good fit. It’s the most affordable ATX Z490 motherboard available on Amazon, and your i5 4690K would likely need an upgrade.

It's not ideal, but there are some z490 motherboards with OC Intel available. You may want to consider more affordable alternatives if your budget allows.

The A pro can manage a 10700k easily. But what about the budget, location, and currency?

What is your actual budget? Since I don't have your budget, location, or currency details, here are some options: The Z490 tomahawk, Z490 gaming edge wifi, Z490 vision G, and Z490 aorus elite are all solid choices for around 200 dollars. If you're aiming for the Z490 a pro, it's still a solid board that can handle a 10700k chipset.

I spent 130 on my current z97 and I don’t want to exceed that amount, particularly because I’m only considering a light OCR at most.

As I mentioned, if you aim for the pro side, you can proceed—it will manage a 10700k without issues.
