Sdd fails to load during the OS installation process.
Hey everyone, MOBO: MSI Z170-A Pro SSD: samsung 850 evo 250gb Windows: 7 Trying do a fresh install on the brand new ssd but when I get to the installation process its not reading the SSD. I already tried doing the "diskpart" stuff but that didn't work. I'm installing windows 7 through a USB.
My initial thought is that your Windows installation ISO might be corrupted, since Windows 7 should already have SATA drivers installed and an SSD doesn't require special drivers. To verify, you can attempt to download the Windows 10 ISO and check if the installer recognizes the SSD. If it does, I suggest recreating the Windows 7 installation media.
You can simply... grab the SATA drivers from the start. Exactly what I recommended in my guide for you.
To switch to IDE mode in BIOS, follow the on-screen instructions or refer to your device's specific manual for the exact steps.
I'm not sure if it depends on the mainboard you have. However, Windows sometimes requires a registry adjustment when switching SATA mode. Just remember that if you don't want to make that change, check @JefferyD90's guide.
The button remains visible. Being labeled "auto detected" doesn<|pad|> can change nothing about it. (I don’t rely on the generic driver; I always use the official one.)
