Screen shuts off briefly for a few seconds during fullscreen transitions and when switching tabs. I resolved it before but it’s coming back now. This time it also flickered oddly while previewing Steam store trailers, unlike the previous issue. It only happens with new content and not on the secondary display. Since then, I switched to a different second monitor (only my main one changed), which is 1440p and 1080p. I reinstalled graphics drivers, cleared cookies/cache in my main browser, tried other display cables, tested on three browsers, updated Windows updates, and used the latest drivers. Specs: Mobo Asus H670-plus, 32GB RAM, 3200MHz CL, Intel i5-13500, GPU 4070, PSU 850W. Monitors – Main: Asus VG227AQ3A 1440p 180Hz; Secondary: Random 60Hz. Let me know if you need further help.

I also think there are problems when using monitors with varying refresh rates, or when the main display has VRR turned on. That’s why I don’t use multiple monitors—it adds more hassle than benefit.

It's really beneficial with productivity tools or streaming services. Just get monitors that match in specifications. Whether you choose two high-end or two budget options, mixing them up causes problems.

The problem might be related to the difference in Hz, or possibly both factors. It seems strange that it worked well before, but not anymore after the change.

It functions properly once you discovered your monitor had adaptive sync enabled in its own settings, and disabling it resolved the issue immediately.
