Pc Specifications: Gigabyte x570i Aorus Pro Wi-Fi Ryzen 7 5800X3D MSI RTX4090 gaming X trio 32GB RAM Focus GX 1000W PSU custom liquid cooling custom cable mod psu cables after finishing my build my PC started up smoothly and handled everyday tasks without issues. When loading a game, my monitors and audio stopped functioning completely (black screen of death?). The PC would occasionally restart to normal. I stress tested CPU, RAM, and GPU; the GPU was the issue and only failed under heavy load. After searching online, I found a post mentioning used cablemods PCIe cables for their 4080/4090 GPU. Using the adapter supplied by the manufacturer resolved the problem. I tried it and everything worked again. I also noticed a new coil whine noise from my GPU that I hadn’t heard before but recognized as related to these components. Now everything runs properly. If you have a custom-built machine with third-party PSU cables, this might be the solution!
